The Novel Approach with Tony DuShane

Fridays 4pm – 6pm (Pacific Time) for 8 weeks September 19 – November 14, 2025

This online novel workshop will include lectures via zoom, in-class exercises, assignments, and workshopping pages.

Each week we’ll explore what makes a great novel including character, plot, theme, conflict, dialogue, point of view, and more.

During the course students will be asked to write everyday for at least 10 minutes and keep a journal accounting for their time. Also, students will be asked to read a novel for at least 10 minutes a day and keep a journal of their thoughts and annotations.

Students will have the opportunity to workshop 20-30 pages during the live sessions.
Limited to 8 students. For beginner and intermediate writers. I feel a good mix of skill sets creates a strong group.

We’ll skip October 31st because the kids need Halloween.
